Hey There
I am Lizzette
She/Her/Hers
I am an English-Spanish-speaking clinical social worker.
I provide a supportive therapeutic experience with an increased understanding for Spanish-English speaking clients as I can understand the language and culture, allowing my clients to feel comfortable opening up.
THERAPY
My focus in therapy is to better understand clients’ experiences and create a safe supportive alliance working together to build or rebuild the life that you want and deserve. In my practice with clients, the importance of positive energy in a therapeutic space ensures that all of my clients will feel supported, listened to, and validated.
Growing up in a multicultural, Mexican and Colombian, family of origin as a Clinical Therapist, I understand the significance that comes from growing up with a multicultural background and having that as an important part of your identity.
While speaking Spanish and contextual cultural understanding is only part of what creates a good therapeutic connection, common experiences can lead to higher levels of satisfaction and connection, which can help create a deeper level of healing for my clients.
I have extensive experience serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in life’s issues and challenges and a few of my specialties are child/adolescents, young adult, parenting, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions and adjustments, domestic/family violence, and substance abuse.
My style and approach to therapy are welcoming and thoughtful while at the same time providing wisdom, care, and life experiences. In therapy, I spend time exploring history, reframing thoughts, self-awareness, and self-concepts. Clients can expect a strong relationship in which clear treatment goals are made and plans of action are created.
I graduated with my BSW in 2017 at Northeastern Illinois University and went on to graduate with my MSW at the University of Michigan -Ann Arbor.
