Diana Jean-Louis, LCSW | Couples, Sexual Health, and Relationship Therapist in Chicago
Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, intimacy concerns, emotional burnout, or simply trying to understand why you keep doing the things you do, let's figure out what's really going on beneath the surface.
Because clarity changes everything.
We’re not doing surface-level therapy over here.
Most people come to therapy because something feels off. Maybe communication keeps breaking down. Maybe intimacy feels disconnected. Maybe anxiety, stress, expectations, or life transitions have you feeling overwhelmed. Or maybe you’re tired of carrying everything while pretending you’re okay.
That’s where I come in. I specialize in working with individuals and couples navigating relationships, communication issues, sexual health and intimacy, men’s issues, emotional burnout, and life adjustments.

Talking to that person, who gets it, feels it, and still keeps it real with you.
Therapy with me feels human. I’m not the therapist sitting silently while you spiral for 50 minutes. We’re having real conversations, connecting dots, and figuring out what is actually happening beneath the surface.
I’m direct, conversational, insightful, and honest. We can laugh in session, and we can also sit with the truth when it shows up. Some clients have said, “Damn, that was rude,” while laughing because the point landed — respectfully.
I always remind my clients that they have choices. Or as I like to say,

Couples in Communication Cycles
You love each other, but the same argument keeps coming back in rotation. We’ll identify the real issue underneath the conflict and what it takes to move differently.
Clients Navigating Sexual Health & Intimacy
Sex, desire, passion, confidence, and connection are welcome topics here. We talk about intimacy honestly, without shame or awkward tiptoeing.
Men Managing Pressure & Expectations
A lot of men never get space to talk about anxiety, relationships, emotional pressure, masculinity, and life stress. This is that space.
Women Tired of Being “The Strong One”
You’re dependable, capable, and exhausted. We’ll work through perfectionism, emotional burnout, relationships, boundaries, and self-worth.
People Feeling Stuck or Trapped
If you keep asking yourself why you do what you do, we’ll slow it down and make the pattern make sense — then look at different options.
Clients Ready for Answers & Change
If you want insight, accountability, direct feedback, and tools you can actually use, we’ll work well together.
Sometimes you’re not stuck. You’re just exhausted from carrying too much.
A lot of people think something is wrong with them because they feel disconnected, reactive, anxious, shut down, or unsure what to do next. Sometimes your mind and body are simply tired from holding too much for too long.
In our work together, we slow things down enough to understand why certain patterns keep repeating, why certain relationships drain you, why you respond the way you do, and what is underneath the frustration, avoidance, overthinking, or emotional walls.
Or like I tell my clients, “If you like it, I love it — as long as we understand what’s going on and why.” No shame. No pretending. Just honesty, clarity, and growth.
Therapy that feels real, relatable, and productive.
I created JL Family Services because I wanted therapy to feel less intimidating and more accessible for people who may not have grown up seeing therapy, healthy emotional conversations, or healthy relationships normalized.
Therapy with me can feel like riding around talking with somebody who gets people and is not afraid to say the quiet part out loud. One moment we’re laughing. The next moment you’re staring at the wall because something finally clicked. Both are part of the process.
In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on understanding what brought you in, identifying patterns, exploring relationships and stressors, and creating goals that actually make sense for your life.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your privacy is deeply respected in therapy. Everything shared in session is kept confidential, with a few legal exceptions that we’ll review together in the beginning. This is your space to be honest, messy, uncertain, emotional, reflective, frustrated, hopeful — or all of the above.
We’ve Got You.
I offer therapy in Chicago and telehealth for clients located in Illinois, Maryland, D.C., Arizona, and Texas.
