Chicago therapy that feels like a real conversation.
In-person therapy in downtown Chicago and flexible telehealth for people carrying work, relationships, family, identity, stress, and everything in between.
Looking for Chicago therapy with current availability? JL Family Services provides in-person therapy at our downtown Chicago office and telehealth throughout Illinois. We work with individuals, couples, families, children, and teens based on clinician fit and availability, with care that is culturally aware, collaborative, practical, and focused on helping clients feel understood—not processed through a system.
Chicago therapy is where our story began.
Chicago is home. Our founder was born and raised here and built JL Family Services with a passion for helping a more diverse population feel seen, understood, and supported in therapy.
That matters in a city as layered as Chicago. Race, culture, identity, family history, neighborhood, relationships, work, community, and lived experience all shape how people move through the world. Mental health treatment should not feel unreachable—or disconnected from the person sitting in the room.
A practice that grew from one Chicago office.
Before JL Family Services expanded across multiple states, there was Chicago. These first-office photos are part of that story: a smaller beginning, a clear purpose, and a belief that therapy could feel more welcoming, culturally responsive, and human.
As the practice grew, the space evolved too—but the goal stayed the same: create room for real conversations and make quality mental health care easier to reach.

Two ways to make Chicago therapy fit your life.
Some clients want the separation of leaving home and sitting in a therapy office. Others want the flexibility of logging in from a private space. Chicago clients can access both, depending on clinician availability and clinical fit.
In-person in the Loop
Meet face-to-face at 25 E Washington St, Suite 1051 in downtown Chicago. In-person availability varies by clinician.
Telehealth across Illinois
Choose secure virtual sessions when weather, commute, work, parenting, caregiving, or preference makes online care easier.
Therapist fit first
Our intake process helps you consider therapist style, specialty, schedule, communication, and the type of relationship you want from therapy.

A warm, comfortable setting designed to feel less clinical and more grounded.

Our downtown office offers a private place to step away from the pace of the city.
Chicago therapy for people managing real life—not performing wellness.
You do not have to arrive with a perfect explanation. Our clients often come in knowing something feels heavy, stuck, repetitive, disconnected, or harder than it should be. We start there.
People carrying a lot
For clients who are capable and responsible—but tired of carrying stress, burnout, anxiety, or emotional pressure alone.
Couples and relationships
For communication breakdowns, emotional distance, trust concerns, intimacy changes, repeating arguments, and decisions about what comes next.
Culturally aware care
For people who want race, culture, identity, gender, sexuality, family history, and community context understood as part of the whole picture.
Adults in transition
For career shifts, grief, dating, parenthood, relocation, boundaries, identity questions, and seasons where the old version of life no longer fits.
Families, children + teens
Support may be available for family patterns, school stress, big feelings, behavior changes, parent-child relationships, and adolescent concerns.
People ready to go deeper
For clients who want a therapist who listens closely, notices patterns, asks useful questions, and helps turn insight into change outside the therapy room.
Chicago therapy in the heart of the Loop.
Our home base is located at 25 E Washington St, Suite 1051, Chicago, IL 60602. Sessions are by appointment, and in-person availability depends on clinician schedule and fit.
We also serve clients throughout Chicago and across Illinois through telehealth, including clients balancing downtown workdays, long commutes, caregiving, school, weather, and everything else that can make getting across the city one more thing to manage.

In-person + virtual flexibility.
Start with a consultation, tell us what you are looking for, and we will help you understand which clinicians are currently available in person, virtually, or both.
